Lubbock Cruz Azul SC 02

Cruz Azul 02 girls participated in this years Presidents Cup.

Playing vs FC Dallas 02 Youth Red in their first game the girls fell behind 1-0 in the first half. (didnt know it was a trend at the time) The came out in the second half with a little more energy, Sabrina scored twice in the second half and the girls won the first game.
The girls started the second game slow an d fell behind Solar Chelsea 02 2-0 in the first half, with an extra 15 minutes at the half due to weather, the girls came out ready to play, moving Kyrsten from defense to forward paid of f with Kyrsten scoring 10 minutes in to the second half, with girls playing better on defense they were creating a lot of opportunity’s. Sabrina scored the second goal in the half, with 10 to play. Neither team scored the rest of the way, but the Cruz girls missed plenty of chances to win the game. Great job coming back.

Sunday morning vs Hurst United 02 was a very cold game, and the girls started that way falling behind 3-0, 20 minutes into the game. Making some adjustments the girls settled down and clamped down on defense the rest of the half. The girls came out again in the second half with more energy and a better concentration, took them 20 minutes but Maddie scored first after the goalie tried punching the ball out of harms way. That really got the girls going with Bri scoring 5 minutes later with a nice dribbling move around 3 defenders and a quick score to make it 2-3 with about 8 minutes left in the game. 5 minutes later Kyrsten scored with a nice shot to the right corner of the net, making it 3-3, the next 3 minutes was all Cruz girls taking about 6 shots on goal and not able to get one in. The game ended 3-3, but it was a nice comeback from the girls but came up a little short.

Congratulations Cruz Azul 03 girls..

The young ladies played up U14 Division and out played the older girls. Our girls went 4-0 during the tournament out scoring their opponents 14-1…
